MEWA COMPUTER CENTRE

One of the two computer training rooms.

The centre was established with the aim of serving as an IT Centre of Excellence for education, services, training and maintenance. The plan is to have a digital hub that consists of: -

  • A training Centre
  • A maintenance unit
  • A computer refurbishment centre
  • A business support centre
Currently we are only operating a training and maintenance unit.

The training centre was opened on 16th October 2006 with the aim of exposing youth from needy backgrounds to the basics of Information Technology so that they can competently participate in the job market. The objective was to introduce computer theoretical knowledge and usage to particularly primary and high school graduates (both male and female) and the community in general.
The knowledge is expected to improve on the technological aspects of the community by empowering the youth with the current know-how of obtaining, sharing and transferring knowledge in all important fields of development.
The computers were donated by an Irish Organization. The centre has so far trained over 800 students.
